Not sure yet if Are You The One? Second Chances will have any interesting math, but I want to leave this open for the AYTO? Math community to comment on the new show. If there's any math, I'll take it on here!
9:55: Looks like The Choice is a modified Prisoner's Dilemma.
Even if Second Chances does not have any math, I would love to see your commentary and thoughts on the episodes and the matches. The show is interesting and the dynamic is very different from that of AYTO. Hopefully your open to sharing your opinions with us.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could post the amount the money each team has after each episodes, how many wins they have, how many 'choices' they have made and how many eliminations they have been in. Just statistics. :)

ReplyDeleteWhy is Keith and Alexis a guaranteed no match? My logic is probably wrong but I cant figure out exactly why. Match up 2 and match up 5 both had one beam and the only repeat in 5 is from ceremony 2 which is Keith and Alexis. What am I missing??
ReplyDeleteIt's between week 3 and 4 where the problem lies. If Keith and Alexis were a match that would mean:
Deleteweek 1: beams were Keith & Alexis, Dimitri & Diandra, Tyler & Nicole, Michael & Keyana or Ethan & Jada, with 3 beams.
week 2: 1 beam - with Keith & Alexis would eliminate: Michael & Keyana and Ethan & Jada. Therefor:
Dimitri & Diandra an Tyler & Nicole MUST be a match, if Keith & Alexis are.
week 3: 2 beams. Keith & Alexis didn't sit together. 1 beam is Tyler & Nicole. Other beam could be: Malcolm & Geles, Michael & Audrey, Shad & Keyana or Anthony & Jada. Other couples are either guaranteed no match or inferred, since no one else could be a match with Keith or Alexis, or the couples were together and the second or 5th match-up.
Week 4: 3 beams:
- Dimitri & Nurys: can't be a match, since Dimitri has to be with Diandra for this to work.
- Tyler & Jada: can't be a match, since it's Tyler & Nicole
- Keith & Nurys: can't be a match, since it's Keith & Alexis
-Kareem & Diandra: Can't be match, since it's Dimitri & Diandra
- Clinton & Uche: proven no match
- Ethan & Nicole: can't be a match, since it's Tyler & Nicole
- Joe & Zoe: can't be a match, since they sat together at match-up 5, with one beam being Keith & Alexis
This leaves: Malcolm & Alivia, Michael & Geles and Shad & Audrey as the 3 beams.
BUT: since week 3: one of these HAS to be a match: Malcolm & Geles, Michael & Audrey, Shad & Keyana or Anthony and Jada.
So there can't be 3 beams in week 4 and 2 in week 3 if Alexis and Keith are a match!
