Season 8, Episode 8 Probabilities - Live Blog

First Monday episode. Starting at 11:03 and going to 12:04.

11:06: Time for some action - Danny organizing the couples to replay the first matchup ceremony, plus the info from the truth booths and blackouts. They don't push too far and thus don't run into the same logical issues we've found out already.

11:09: Jenna and Amber trying this coupling out.

11:10: Basit is a virgin?

11:12: Paige not really that interested in Remy, but he's pushing her to give him a try.

11:13: Jasmine and Nour fighting over Kai, who seems to get younger every episode.

11:18: Another podium challenge. Headlines about each of the housemates... moms, exes, and friends.

11:22: Basit gets to pick from Remy, Max, Kai and Nour for their date. They pick Kai. Jenna picks from Kai, Amber, Nour, and Jasmine - she picks Jasmine. Nour is Basit's second pick and Amber goes with Jenna.

Since Jenna's choosing between Kari and Paige, that means there will be no new info from any of the couples that go in the Truth Booth.

11:26: Max can't handle Justin playing Suck and Blow.

11:30: The house is pushing for Jenna and Jasmine, reprising their first coupling.

11:32: Cute diving date in the city and restaurants of Kona.

11:34: Terrence J pushing for another party, Under the Sea.

Truth Booth #7

Jasmine and Jenna head to the Truth Booth - and we know they're not a match. No new info.

11:39: Justin and Max celebrate. Kari also leads the effort of figuring out that everyone from the last matchup ceremony other than the three couples from the first matchup ceremony - Danny and Kai, Justin and Max, Basit and Jonathan - is a no match. Some good inference here!

11:45: Kai gets Jasmine back in the Boom Boom Room. Remy tells Nour who is not happy.

11:52: The Under the Sea party is flashing - although I think less daring fashion-wise than the earlier Queer Prom. Paige has to be censored for MTV. Another Nour - Kai fight... as Kai ends up between yet another set of people.

11:56: Jasmine and Nour fight over Kai, with Jasmine ending by walking away and saying "You know I'm not the one." About that...

12:01: We're running out of time for a Matchup Ceremony here.

12:02: Jenna speaking to what we're all seeing - that Kai is having a destructive impact on the house.

Nothing new this week... let's hope that something comes through next week. Seems like Amber and Justin start hitting it off... definitely still a possibility!

  1. Kai must be using the super power sun block 24/7. How can he be that white still? They are in Hawaii, going to the beach all the time. haha

    1. Spotted it too! They were originally talking about using a coaster, and then all the sudden a Horsea comes out of nowhere!

  4. I absolutely love Danny. He is by far one of my favorites in the house. I really hope Kai isnt his match because I dont want to see him hurt

    1. Agree. Kai and Remy seem like more of a match

    2. That's what I thought day one. I do like Remi, but he likes to stir the pot. I liked Kai at first, but now I cant stand him.

  5. the whole thing with censoring women's nipples is getting old.
Shows how sexist censorship is. Notice they don't censor Basit, they don't censor any men or people who don't claim a gender. It's stupid. Nipples are nipples

  6. If Max and Justin sit together at the match up and Danny and Kai don't, we'll know for sure which is the match. Danny made it sound like that was their plan and I really hope it is.

Because there's only one possible solution for everyone if Max and Justin are the PM. We match how many of the people are PMs in that solution to the number of beams.

  8. I wish we would've gotten some answers tonight, but the drama is amusing too because I wonder if Nour and Jasmine are going to go from hating each other to figuring out that they're a match in time.

  9. I'm gonna assume they figure out the solution before the last ceremony and that's why this episode didn't have a match ceremony.

Also I know mathwise there are more solutions with Danny/Kai then Jax, but if that's the case these matchmakers are awful at their jobs.

  10. Matchmakers??? I'm pretty sure the producers just use a glorified version of last season's "Fate Button" to put the couples together.

I know they always talk a good game about "experts" and so on, but we've never seen any of these experts or heard what they have to say about why X and Y are a match. (Maybe Dr. Frankie is one of the "experts"? However, her advice hasn't been much better than the stuff you would read on a fortune cookie.)

I'm pretty convinced that the producers put together couples that they think will bring the highest entertainment value to their show. Then, as the season progresses, they change up the couples depending on whether or not couples are getting together too soon, or a love triangle exists. Buy her, I'm a cynic. ;-)

  11. The contestants can reduce to at most 5 possibilities with the following matching ceremony: Aasha-Paige, Amber-Nour, Basit-Brandon, Danny-Kai, Jasmine-Jenna, Jonathan-Remy, Justin-Max, Kari-Kylie.

  12. Why is there only one Jax possibility? Aren't there three?
Aasha-Brandon, Basit-Jonathan, Nour-Jasmine, Justin-Max, Paige-Amber, and then one of the following three combos:
    Kai-Remy, Danny-Kari, Kylie-Jenna
    Kai-Remy, Danny-Kylie, Jenna-Kari
    Kai-Kylie, Danny-Kari, Jenna-Remy

    1. Kylie-Jenna and Danny-Kari are confirmed no matches because of the blackout;
