Season 3, Episode 7 Probabilities - Live Blog

10:13: Alec-Melanie (6.5%) and Hunter-Rashida (11.6%) win the challenge!

10:16: Kayla-Mike (12.7%) flirting. Amanda jealous.

10:17: Amanda going crazy. Nelson having none of it.

    How long and what program did you use to make a program to list all possible combinations and then eliminate specific ones?

      I wrote my program in Java, although there's nothing Java-specific about the program - it could be written in virtually any other programming language. In terms of length, it took me a couple hours to build the program for the first season. An individual season is around 700 lines of code (probably could be smaller) and takes around 1.5 seconds to evaluate the remaining combinations.

    These guys aren't bright. At this point it's a simple math equation. Instead they keep listening to Ryan talking about "follow your heart" - I think MTV chose a more "frisky and frivolous" bunch this go 'round to make sure there was more making out and hooking up than actually being smart about winning the money. They are not strategic At. All.

    They need to utilize the truth booth more by picking better partners, based on the possible matches from previous weeks. Alec and Stacey need to get in there. If they are a match it would wrap up week 1 and 5, and provide them with so much insight on who were not matched that week!

      Amen! That's always my #1 complaint - they're dumb when they do the challenges and don't play strategically to get high probability couples into the Truth Booth. Honestly I feel like they deserve to lose at this point because they're so stupid.

    I think i'm figuering it out very slowly

    Connor - Chelsey (100%)
    1 of the 2 beams at the beginning
    Alec - Stacey (46.2 %)

    last week they had 3 beams
    Zak - Hanna (36.9 %)
    Kiki - Nelson (30.8 %)
    are the two obvious choices

    I'm going with my heart on this one
    Melanie - Tyler (23.1 %)
    Cheyenne - Chuck (she had wet dreams about him haha 13.8%)

    If these matches are correct, Rashida - Mike are a perfect match

    We still have to figure out the third beam this week

      These are my thoughts as well. I think Britni/Austin and Amanda/Devin have to be a match based on the other above couples you stated which would leave Kayla and Hunter.

    Based on my calculations, if we are to assume that Stacey and Alec are a perfect match, instead of Britni and Hunter.... using the information from the match ups - combinations 21 and 22 are VERY strong possibilities.

    MTV needs to hide all the boose available in the house....they are probably getting wasted every night and not even talking strategy. This is the saddest season yet...the girls especially!! most of them are super dumb....I just pitty whoever ends up being Devin's match, he's just cruel.

      I think the idea is that MTV would want them to lose so they wouldn't have to pay out the money. Therefore, encouraging them to get wasted all the time is probably working out well for the network.

      I couldn't agree more about Devin's match. I feel the same way for Kiki's match. Let's just hope neither of them have any contact with Devin and Kiki after filming.

      They think they can't use strategy(logic!) to figure it out because the host keeps preaching to them about how they have to follow their hearts. If they're not dumb, they're incredibly gullible and naive. I'm pretty sure they're just really dumb though.
