DeleteIt is because of the 39 Million possible matches, none of them include Dimitri and Nicole. The odds that are listed in the table above aren't figured out the way you or I would do it. While I don't know exactly how the program works, I assume that it is just a massive listing of every single possible combination.
DeleteThe no-matches are easy, because since you know two people aren't a match, you can just eliminate every option that lists those two people as a match. The matchup ceremonies are more complicated, but basically work the same way. When they get one light in week 2, the computer scours through the data and eliminates any options that would result in more (or less) than one match.
So when you see inferred no match, it means that the data behind the scenes has eliminated every option where those two individuals could be a match.

DeleteIf Dimitri and Nicole were a perfect match, that means they are the one beam from Ceremony 2. Thus, none of the 6 repeaters are a perfect match. That means 3 of the non-repeaters from Ceremony 1 are a perfect match. However, there are only 4 non-repeaters from Week 1 after Anthony and Geles went into the Truth Booth, and two of those couples include Dimitri and Nicole separately.

ReplyDeleteBecause the math makes it really low since there was only 1 match at the 2nd ceremony and the others were all repeats from episode 1 and that episode had 3 matches. Which means that 1 of those is most likely the 1 match.

DeleteIt bothered me when they rushed through certain couples at the Matchup Ceremony. I haven't learned all their names yet so not saying them or showing them onscreen was frustrating.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that they didn't show who people in the house voted to go into the Truth Booth. In a way I prefer the lack of cliffhanger though.
I agree. We're already on week 4, and I feel like I can only name a handful of contestants, compared with past seasons. (In fact, as I am reading the post, I've got the cast page up so that I can know who is who. And I'm like, what, is that person really on the show? :-)
DeletePlease bring back the graph. I need to see if this cast is as far behind as they seem. Just do it per match up ceremony rather than 'week' since the pacing is all messed up this season.
